ELVES WANTED!!!

The students LOVED this project! First, they got to fill out an application for a job as an elf.  Next, they had to be finger-printed, as many of us do to obtain a job.  After that, the students wrote a persuasive letter to Santa convincing him to hire them.  Finally, they got to make their own elf picture to display on the application.  Aren't they cute?? The kids really enjoyed this activity and it lead to a lot of interesting discussions about careers!

CHRISTMAS IN FRANCE

Our cadet teacher, Miss Caitlyn, "took" us to France!  We learned all about their Christmas traditions, such as children leaving their shoes by the fireplace, and on Christmas morning they are filled with treats.  Miss Caitlyn also taught us about the history of the Yule Log in France.

Polar Express Day
&
Goodbye Miss Caitlyn

Wow, what a busy day!  It was Polar Express Day, so we got to hang out in our comfy jammies all day. Yay! We also enjoyed the movie and hot cocoa, of course.

Since it was Miss Caitlyn's last day we threw a little surprise party for her.  We were really sad to see her go, but the students sent her off with lots of hugs and advice for college!

We got to see moccasins too. Chief Wallace is cool and awesome. She has long hair for strength.

Totem Poles

BY: TUCKER FRANCIS

We got to make totem poles because we are learning about Native Americans. We had to use symmetry to make totems. But you can't forget the funny face!  Not all tribes have totem poles. Some are small and some are big. Many have animal faces on them. It takes a long time to carve totem poles. They can tell stories. You can't forget the World's Tallest Totem Pole. It is 160 feet!

That's how tall it is!

These are the Totem Poles that we made.
