Today is 3-3-15. Yesterday was Dr. Suess's birthday but we didn't have school. So we did the activities today. One of the activities was a Challenge. A stem Challenge. Where we have to make a certain tree from Dr. Suess's the Lorax book. We only got 8 tooth picks, 20 small marshmallows, a ruler, a small clump of playdough, three markers, And a cotton ball. We couldn't hold it up either. It had to sit on the playdough on a paper plate. Their were different groups too. Each group had to make two trees out of the materials you get. STEM means Science, Technology, Engineering, And Math.

Yay Zack!!
To get the kids excited about the book fair, Ms. Chester had a guessing contest. She had a jar filled with eyeballs (gum & candy) and each student had the opportunity to make a guess of how many were in the jar. Our very own Zack Lee had the closest guess and won the contest!
HERE ARE SOME OF ZACK'S THOUGHTS ON THE CONTEST:
On 10-27-14 I won an eyeball guessing contest...I was the closest one with a guess of 158 of 175. My prize? Well, I GOT TEN 10 BUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is a number sentence 10-8=2. I only spent 8 bucks, so I didn't get 2 bucks. It just, just nevermind... Do you think I put too much ! (exclamation marks?) ...What was I saying? I don't care:}.

Cause & Effect
Today Mrs. Lankford dropped an egg on the floor to teach us about Cause & Effect. The gravity in our planet made the egg drop onto the hard tile causing the eggs shell to crack. Because of the hard tile breaking the egg's shell quickly releasing the uncooked yoke and egg whites onto the floor.
CAUSE (why): Mrs. Lankford dropped an egg.
EFFECT (what): The egg broke! Ahhh!
In fifth or sixth grade and you have science you have to do an egg drop where you have to make a special protection for a egg so when you drop it won't break. So if you're in fifth or sixth grade good luck.

Rise and Shine
This little cutie, Layna Barwick, is our September Student of the Month!!
I love how sweet and helpful she is in class. Layna is an excellent role model and I can always count on her!💕
This little sweetie received the September Hug-a-Bear award for our class. I love how focused and dedicated he is on his classwork. And look at that precious, toothless smile! (One of my favorite things about 2nd graders. Lol)💙

Would You Rather...
Today is Would You Rather Wednsday. And it's would you rather the world be ruled by insects or aliens. And I pick insects. You'd have a lot of bug bites. But you can step on them but they can't step on you.
